I absolutely loved my recent stay in Tenerife in winter at the Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey.

This stylish and urban hotel is set in a gorgeous colonial-style building, offering a unique and luxurious experience. 

The rooms are spacious and equipped with all the modern amenities, making it one of the best places to stay in south Tenerife. 

I particularly enjoyed the onsite dining options, including the Los Menceyes restaurant and two bars.

After a long day exploring the city, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. 

The hotel is ideally located in a quiet residential area, just a stone’s throw away from the beautiful García Sanabria Park. It’s also conveniently close to the ferry port and Tenerife North Airport. 

Private parking is available nearby for an additional cost. It’s no wonder the hotel is highly rated, receiving a fantastic 9.1 rating from couples who loved the location.

I have just returned from the trip of a lifetime at H10 Atlantic Sunset, one of the most luxurious resorts in South Tenerife. 

From the moment I stepped foot into the stunning lobby, I knew I was in for an unforgettable experience. 

The 24-hour front desk staff were warm, welcoming and attentive to all my needs.

My room was beautifully designed and equipped with all the modern amenities I could ask for. 

Each morning, I eagerly looked forward to the continental breakfast and the opportunity to try some of the mouth-watering specialties at the themed restaurants. 

The outdoor pool provided a perfect respite from the warm Tenerife sunshine, and the playground was a hit with the youngsters. 

The cherry on the top was the hotel’s location, conveniently close to top attractions such as Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos, which is why great when you’re looking for where to stay in Tenerife in Winter.

As someone lucky enough to travel to Tenerife in January, I can confidently say that Gara Suites Golf & Spa is the best place to stay on the island. 

Located just minutes from the world-renowned Siam Park, this hotel boasts luxurious amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

I recently stayed here and was blown away by the fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Waking up every morning to that scenery was just incredible.

I can’t help but rave about The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama – the ultimate place in Tenerife for couples. 

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean and the neighboring island of Gomera. 

It’s no wonder that this luxurious hotel has become a timeless island retreat for many when it comes to spa hotels in Tenerife. 

The award-winning spa, golden-sand beach, 7 outdoor pools, and 2 Michelin-star restaurants make this hotel an absolute dream. 

The hotel goes above and beyond to cater to younger guests with the Ritz Kids Zone and the Fun & Entertainment Center. 

I loved how every room and villa was decorated in an ethnic style, boasting luxury marble bathrooms, interactive TVs, and internet access.

6. Gran Hotel Bahía del Duque Resort – Costa Adeje

During my trip to Tenerife in January, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay than the Gran Hotel Bahía del Duque Resort. 

As soon as I walked into the lobby, I was greeted by the breathtaking views of the Duque Beach and the lush subtropical gardens that surround the resort. 

The amenities were beyond what I expected, with five outdoor pools that were perfect for lounging in the sun and a state-of-the-art fitness center that kept me active. 

With eight restaurants and seven bars to choose from, I always had a variety of culinary options that catered to any craving. 

The rooms and villas were modern and chic, with all the amenities that I needed for a comfortable stay, including LCD satellite TV and a cozy bathrobe/slippers. 

The resort’s activities were endless and kept me constantly entertained, whether it was participating in aerobics classes or going whale watching. 

Adeje Golf Course and Siam Water Park were only a 5-minute drive away, making my stay even more convenient. 

I was able to enjoy things to do in Costa Adeje like the botanical walking route, and the tennis and table tennis courts. To top it off, the airport was within a 15-minute driving distance. 

Overall, the Gran Hotel Bahía del Duque Resort was the perfect place to stay in Tenerife in January.

7. Europe Villa Cortes GL – Playa de las Américas

When I first arrived at Europe Villa Cortes GL, I was immediately struck by the opulence of the Mexican-inspired decor. 

From the custom-made furniture to the intricate tile work, every detail was carefully curated to transport guests to another world, being one of the best hotels in Tenerife on the beach. 

And yet, despite the luxurious surroundings, there was a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel.

With six restaurants and three bars, there was always something new and delicious. 

And during the day, I found myself torn between lounging by the outdoor pool, complete with a waterfall and Balinese beds, or hitting the tennis court for a bit of exercise. 

It’s no wonder that Europe Villa Cortes GL is one of the most popular resorts in Tenerife. 

Just a stone’s throw from the Las Américas Golf Course and a short drive from the airport, it’s the perfect place to start any trip to this beautiful island.

8. Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora – Alcalá

While traveling through Tenerife, I found the perfect spot for families – Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora

The resort is located right on the waterfront of Alcalá, with direct access to the beach and natural seawater pools. 

From the terrace of my villa, I had a stunning view of the ocean and the gardens. The large bath and hydromassage shower were exactly what I needed to relax after a day of things to do in Tenerife. 

The resort has no shortage of dining options with 7 restaurants serving Mediterranean, Italian, Japanese, and international cuisine and 8 different bars. 

But what sets this resort apart is its Red Level for Families service. 

The exclusive access to the Family Lounge and additional Red Level Family rooms facilities made our stay truly special.

Paradise Park Fun Lifestyle Hotel is hands down the best place to stay in Tenerife in January. 

With stunning views over Los Cristianos Bay and Mount Teide, I couldn’t help but feel like I was in paradise. 

The air-conditioned rooms were the perfect home away from home, each featuring private balconies/terraces, satellite TV, and mini-bars. 

I spent my days lounging by one of the hotel’s five swimming pools or soaking in one of the four jacuzzis. 

For those looking to stay active, there was a small fitness center and even aerobics classes at the Sparadise Center. 

But my favorite part was the Turkish bath with treatments – the perfect way to unwind after a long day of exploring. 

And the cherry on top? The delicious buffet meals served at the Tenerife restaurant with themed options in the evening. 

If you’re wondering where to stay in Tenerife, the Paradise Park Fun Lifestyle Hotel should be at the top of your list.

11. Kora Nivaria Beach – Abades

I found my perfect getaway at Kora Nivaria Beach, one of the top sustainable resorts in Tenerife. 

The location couldn’t be more perfect, with Abades Beach just a 4-minute walk away and Los Abroguitos Beach just 500 yards away. 

Plus, the on-site private parking and full-day security put my mind at ease. I loved lounging around the infinity pool with a fence, and taking a dip in the hot tub when the sun went down. 

The apartment was fully equipped with everything I needed – a kitchen, dishwasher, oven, satellite flat-screen TV, ironing facilities, and more. 

I could even catch a glimpse of the sea from my terrace! The resort also provided plenty of things to do in South Tenerife to keep me entertained, like snorkeling, windsurfing, diving, and yoga classes. 

For golf enthusiasts, the Ganado Beach & Golf del Sur Golf Course is just a short drive away. All in all, my stay at Kora Nivaria Beach was absolute perfection.

12. Hotel Laguna Nivaria – La Laguna

As someone who has had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Laguna Nivaria in San Cristóbal de la Laguna, I can confidently say that it is the perfect place to stay in Tenerife in January. 

This 16th-century mansion in the old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and exudes colonial-style decor that adds to the charm of the building. 

The hotel offers free fiber optic WiFi, air conditioning, heating and cable TV in all of its accommodations. 

While the historic building houses the reception, restaurant, meeting rooms, suites, and upper-category rooms, the modern building boasts a free gym, comfort rooms, and a spa (surcharge). 

Guests can indulge in buffet breakfast at Plaza Restaurant or on the terrace and enjoy authentic Canarian and international cuisine for lunch and dinner, which is sourced from their organic garden. 

The café-bar ambiance is perfect for a relaxing evening. The hotel is located just 15 minutes by car from Santa Cruz port and the nearest beaches and is only 2.2 mi from Tenerife Norte Airport. 

Free cable internet is available in the rooms and there’s free internet in the reception area.

The Hotel Laguna Nivaria is an excellent option for those looking for a memorable stay on the island, as well as access to things to do in North Tenerife.

13. Precise Resort Puerto de la Cruz Tenerife – Puerto de la Cruz

During my time in Tenerife, I enjoyed staying at the Precise Resort Puerto de la Cruz Tenerife

Set on the coast, this hotel is surrounded by 40,000 square feet of stunning gardens filled with exotic plants and flowers. 

The palm-fringed swimming pool is a must-visit spot, offering fantastic views of the Atlantic.

I loved spending my afternoons strolling through the gardens, playing mini-golf, and even hitting a few tennis balls. 

The rooms were elegantly decorated and featured private balconies, perfect for enjoying the sea views. 

There are plenty of things to do in Puerto de la Cruz like surfing at Playa Martianez or visit the Botanical Garden. 

Tenerife Sur Airport is only a short drive away, making this one of the best places to stay in Tenerife.

14. Santa Barbara Golf and Ocean Club – San Miguel de Abona

When I first arrived at the Santa Barbara Golf and Ocean Club in Golf del Sur, I couldn’t believe how close it was to the beach! 

Only walking a few hundred feet, I waved deep in the Atlantic. The outdoor pool was just as inviting, and the spa with hot tub and sauna was a dream. 

My apartment had a private balcony, but I couldn’t resist the temptation to lounge poolside all day. 

When I did go back inside, I was impressed by the sleek and comfortable features of my unit – it really felt like a home away from home. 

The hotel entertains all-ages, from games to clubs, and the nightlife here doesn’t disappoint, and there are plenty of things to do in Tenerife with kids. 

Dining was also a treat, from local to international cuisine, and a grocery store is conveniently located right on the premises. 

Nearby, I also took advantage of the Golf del Sur and Amarilla golf courses. 

I’d recommend the Santa Barbara Golf and Ocean Club to anyone looking for an inviting escape in one of the best south Tenerife resorts!

15. Parque Santiago III – Playa de la Américas

Picture yourself waking up in a modern, yet cozy room with a hot tub waiting for you just a few steps away. 

The stunning view of Playa de las Americas’ seafront is just frosting on the cake.

This is what you get when you stay at Parque Santiago III, a 3-star aparthotel where I had the pleasure of staying recently during my trip to Tenerife. 

What I loved about this place was not only the location but also the amenities that were available onsite. 

There is a well-equipped gym and an outdoor pool, and families with children can also take advantage of the safety gates and the playground. 

You can also indulge in a variety of wellness options like beauty services and yoga classes. 

When it comes to facilities, Parque Santiago III has it all, being one of the best family hotels in Tenerife, that’s also on the budget.
