My Packing Tips For Greece

I’ve travelled to quite a few countries, and I’ve felt more relaxed when my outfits were sorted. The trips went smoothly, and there was no tension about what to wear at any time of the day.

For that very reason, I followed these top three tips while packing for my vacations in Greece:

  • Please do not pack heels or other uncomfortable shoes. You’ll be walking a lot, so you’ll need tested footwear you can wear all day.
  • I try on all my outfits before vacations and take pictures. That way, I know what to wear every day and not waste my precious time trying on dresses on vacations.
  • Avoid dark or heavy clothing in Greece. Even in winter, it rarely gets cold, and the weather remains mild. If you’re unsure, pack a couple of light jackets for nighttime outings.

Cute Greece Outfit Ideas for Your Next Vacation

The weather in Greece would be milder, so I chose a mix of lightweight breathable fabrics that will help me transition effortlessly from day to evening.

Between the sunlit white walls, cobalt domes, and sweeping ocean horizons, the scenery is almost too perfect… and I definitely wanted my outfits to complement it.

Off-the-Shoulder Top + Linen Pants + Slip-On Flats.

An off-the-shoulder chic top is perfect for warm days in Paros. Pair it with any linen pants and slip-on flats, and you’re ready for the day. You can take a stylish light jacket with you to transition into the evening.

My Cello Knit Top is my fave for sunny holidays. I preferred slip-on flats on most days in Greece because they are perfect for long strolls along the beach and are also okay for dinner outings.

Sundresses + Mix & Match Outfits

Sundresses are versatile, chic, and easy to dress up or down depending on the time of day. I packed several from short, flouncy ones to long ones. Don’t forget to bring your accessories to dress them up.

Pair it with sandals if you’re going out for dinner or wear flats while exploring the charming streets of Athens. This is my all-time inspiration for Greek summer outfits.

Dressy Jumpsuit + Sandals + Crossbody Bag:

Dressy jumpsuit with sandals and crossbody bag perfect for Greece vacation outfit

Dressy jumpsuits are so in trend. Choose bold patterns, sparkly fabrics, and flirty designs for your nights out with your friends. This Mango striped Instagrammy jumpsuit stood out to me.

Pair them with nude sandals to make the dress stand out and a crossbody to define structure. I chose this and several others for my Greece vacations.

The crossbody bag is from Mango. I like the sleek, simple style.

These Revolve sandals go with all light color dresses, so I packed this pair for my Greece tour.

For The Beach

Lounging by the pool, swimming, and boating are a large part of vacations in Greece, so make sure you bring enough pieces for those beach vibes.

I had this swimsuit from Freepeople most of the time in Greece. Because I could wear any pants, and it’d convert into a lazy top.

Cover-ups are equally important as they help you transition to lunch or an outing instantly and effortlessly. Don’t forget to bring cover-ups for after swimming.

I wanted to be creative and experimental with my dresses in Greece, so I bought a few coverups, like this Shell Sands Boyfriend Shirt and another from Everything But Water.

Tops & Shorts

I spent several days lounging by the pool or just relaxing on the beach. Tops and shorts came super handy during the day. It was stylish and comfortable, and I could easily wrap a throw if it got chilly as the sun set.

In Mykonos, I was glad for this combination as it was sunny all day long and I got to flaunt my Tie Front Shorts and Impression sleeveless top.

Sweater Dress + Fleece Lined Translucent Tights + Sneakers

While in Santorini, I hiked to Ancient Thira from Perissa Beach and visited Vlychada Beach and the Red Sand Beach. While walking, I prefer soft breathable wick that’d absorb sweat.

For that, I wore an oversized Tee from Lulus with sneakers from REI. Don’t forget to take a light jacket and a raincoat, because you never know.

If you’re hiking in the evening, you can also wear the sweater dress and the going-out dress. I wore fleece-lined translucent tights, and I was warm enough when it got cold at night.

Floral Midi Dress + Denim Jacket + Ankle Boots

For a formal night out, you can choose a more dressy outfit, like this floral midi dress paired with a denim jacket, since it gets cold at night.

These dressy Delilah boots feature sequin detailing on the heels and will be perfect with this floral dress.

Airy Blouses & Tees

Pack a few loose blouses, tops, non-iron sleeveless shirts, and cute lightweight tees. These are great, nice-to-have items that go pretty much with everything in your suitcase.

Skirts

Skirts are lovely and practical in Greece. Midi and long skirts protect your legs from the constant sun while still being airy.

It is usually very windy, so these don’t fly up either. I’m in love with this statement piece from Nordstrom Coco Dream

Accessories to Pack for Greece

Stylish Greece accessories including sunglasses, straw hat, crossbody bag, and scarf

Sunglasses: Choose a classy pair like these sunglasses from Lulus. I carry this versatile pair on all my vacations.

Wide-brimmed Hat: The hat is a must in Greece, as you’d be spending most of your time in the sun. I love this particular straw hat from Conner Hats. It also completes your look.

Crossbody bag: It keeps your flowy dress in place, haha! This style is elegant, keeps your hands free, and your belongings safe. I bought mine from Nordstrom

A classic scarf or shawl: This Talbot shawl will be helpful when it gets cooler at night, or you visit churches.

What’s the best luggage to bring to Greece?

The best luggage depends on your destination. A carry-on suitcase works well in cities like Athens, but lightweight bags or backpacks are better for places like Santorini with stairs and uneven paths.

How do I not look like a tourist in Greece?

Keep your style simple and casual. Avoid overdressing or wearing heels, and skip obvious souvenir-style clothing. Choose minimal, comfortable outfits that blend in naturally.

Can you wear jeans in Greece?

Yes, jeans are common, but they’re not ideal in summer. Lightweight fabrics like cotton and linen are better choices for staying cool and comfortable.
