Why I Switched to Linen for Travel: the Brand That Changed My Mind

How linen for travel made me rethink what I pack.

There I was, packing for another sun-soaked trip to Spain!

Opening my closet to a lineup of my favourite pieces, I could already picture myself wandering the charming streets and enjoying leisurely dinners on scenic terraces.

Most of my summer pieces are made of linen. I bought some of them more than a year ago, and yet they still look as good as new, just a little softer with time.

You know I love slow travel, but I also have a soft spot for less-explored places and trying something new.

So, wearing linen travel clothing, which offers versatility and lets me move with ease, is an essential part of every trip I take.

I don’t really dress for attention, but these nature-inspired pieces often get compliments.

Their relaxed, classic style and understated elegance give me a confident, feminine feel.

Why linen for travel?

Whether it’s clothing or bedding, linen feels cool against the skin.

I’ve worn linen travel clothing in different countries in warm conditions. And I understand why people love how fresh and comfortable it feels.

It’s like linen has natural ventilation. Science says the hollow spaces in its fibres make air move freely in and out of the fabric.

And because the yarn dries quickly, I often get my clothes back from my accommodation’s laundry service fresh and dry in just a few hours, even in humid conditions.

Linen can also transfer body heat to its surface and release it into the air.

That said, it may lower the perceived temperature by 3-4 degrees.

So let’s say you travel Spain in summer and temps range between 28-30℃ (82-86°F), wearing linen may feel like 24-26℃ (78-82°F).

Also, did you know that linen fabrics have tightly bound flax fibres that soften and strengthen the more you wash them?

That’s exactly why I can still wear most of my LINTICO pieces confidently.

Made from natural, long-lasting fabrics, it’s a good value for money that may have even saved me some money to spend on my trips.

The LINTICO discovery

Between work and travel, I have my own way of shifting my attention to other things I love, like browsing dresses online. That’s how I discovered LINTICO.

Featuring linen clothing women would love for a quietly elegant style, showcasing one of the best sellers from LINTICO’s online store felt like a perfect little escape.

The selection has straightforward filters too, making it easy to navigate the listings, from 100% to blended linen fabrics.

But what ultimately gave me the final nod was LINTICO’s dedication to slower fashion and creating fits that follow the body, rather than asking the body to conform to the clothes.

It inspired me to be more mindful about which clothes I wear. Pieces that will stand the test of time and simply feel like me.

Product review 1 : The Easter Top

EASTER – a classic optic-white top with relaxed drop-shoulder sleeves.

Maybe you’ve seen me wearing a button-up shirt or cardigan over a tank. I love pieces like these because they’re so easy to layer.

When I was planning a trip to Morocco last spring, I wanted something along the same lines. But this time, with a little more drama: puffed sleeves.

I came across EASTER, which comes in five sizes.

Finding my size at a new brand felt like a gamble. Thankfully, LINTICO’s measurement chart got it right.

Just a week after my purchase, I received it in a compostable shipping bag, which gave me the impression that LINTICO really takes sustainable travel fashion seriously.

Inside, the piece seemed carefully folded because the drop-shoulder sleeves weren’t pressed into harsh creases.

As for sizing, I’d say it runs quite generously, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend sizing down.

What really stood out to me, though, was the thick linen fabric and the neat cut, which gives the blouse a beautiful shape even from the back.

The shell buttons are lined up in an alternating pattern and aren’t plastic, which adds to the sense that EASTER is a well-made, quality piece.

And the shoulder line doesn’t feel awkward with the puffed sleeves. If anything, they’re comfortable and look refined rather than sloppy.

Overall, it’s simple and easy to style with different pieces like skirts and trousers.

I didn’t only wear it during Morocco’s sunny spring weather. It also fits beautifully for casual days and even semi-formal occasions.

Product review 2 : Linen pants

VERIDIANA – High-waisted linen pants with a relaxed, pleated drape, available in a variety of colors.

One of the most comfortable bottoms to wear in summer is a pair of 100% linen wide-leg pants.

From beaches to long cultural walks, these pants were ready for a full, busy day of exploring.

They were carefully packed inside the parcel and arrived neatly folded, so at first, I thought the silhouette didn’t look as full as I had expected.

I prefer a wide-leg cut that flows naturally but with a little volume or excess fabric.

But once I tried them on, the pockets and inverted pleats gave the pants the structure I was looking for.

They look full but controlled, just enough to define the waist.

The elasticated back also feels comfortable around the waist.

The length was perfect, just right to keep me from stepping on the hem, especially since I planned to wear them with flats while exploring the best Malaga beaches.

With their clean lines and medium-weight linen fabric, VERIDIANA creates a flattering silhouette while remaining light and easy to move in.

I’ve already worn them with long sleeves, sleeveless tops, and a linen-blend shirt, and they’ve always been the perfect match.

Product review 3:  the best travel top

VIOLA – a drop-shoulder top with layered asymmetric hems, available in various colours.

Since I couldn’t get over the VERIDIANA pants from my last LINTICO review, I looked for the perfect pair and found VIOLA.

Well-reviewed by shoppers, I was excited when it finally arrived.

But the moment I pulled it out of the shipping bag, I worried that I had picked the wrong size because it looked much larger than expected.

Thankfully, when I tried it on, it actually fit perfectly. It was relaxed without looking oversized.

The drop-shoulder silhouette and layered hems are what give the top its sophisticated look.

Made from 100% breathable linen, VIOLA has that relaxed, natural texture that will likely crease as the day goes on. But those inevitable wrinkles are simply part of linen’s charm and never really disappoint.

I feel good wearing it on island and coastal vacations, even with shorts. Yet it’s versatile enough to wear in countries where more conservative clothing is preferred.

I especially love the soft V-neck, shorter front, and longer back. Everything about the cut feels thoughtfully considered.

And of course, again, the layered hems. They add just the right touch of elegance, giving the piece that understated, quiet-luxury vibe.

Styling Tips

One travel perk I’ll never regret embracing is dressing up.

When I bought EASTER, I was imagining a chic look.

I buttoned it all the way up, tucked it into my favourite pleated midi skirt, wore my white loafers, and was ready to wander through a charming old town.

Keep a scarf in the same colour as your skirt, in case you find yourself somewhere that calls for an upgraded look.

For VERIDIANA, I put on a silk camisole and pointed-toe pumps for an elegant coastal dinner in Malaga.

If you are visiting Dubai in summer, pair VIOLA with VERIDIANA pants and leather flats. It works well in social gatherings or exploring the city.

The V-neck looks good with either a long or short necklace, beaded or with a pendant.

It also goes well with a shayla, a scarf traditionally worn by women in the Arab region.

My Final Thoughts on Linens for Travel

Back in the day, I was drawn to trendy, designer clothes. I used to think, “I deserve to buy what I want to wear,” and I believed a brand name guaranteed better quality.

But I guess my choices have evolved as much as my travel content has.

Especially when I discovered LINTICO

At first, I tried their pieces because I only wanted to wear something sustainable.

Now, packing a linen dress for travel is a must for me, especially in summer because they’re breathable and designed to complement my natural shape.

It’s simplicity without sacrificing elegance.
