My husband bought this for me for Christmas—okay, I’ll admit it, I purchased it for myself and wrapped it as a gift from my husband since he isn’t one to shop for Christmas. Anyway, I waited until Christmas morning to look at the book and words can’t describe how ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and well made this is. I’m not sure if I’m the only one that does this, but when Studio McGee posts a video, I often pause the video and sometimes take a screenshot to save an idea. Well, this saves me from doing that. The thought process is evident and well done and the images are so well curated. The index section on the back is absolutely amazing. It makes life easier to find their suggested paint colors, the differences in materials, etc. They truly put a lot of thought into it. I’m in love! Well done, Studio McGee.

I’ve been following Studio McGee for many years now and so happy to finally have a book from this designer! The book is impressive for the price. It’s thick with high quality paper and has a helpful and organized user’s guide at the end. The photography is beautiful as are the designs and vignettes on each page. I personally prefer more historic and traditional architecture and homes over the ultra modern designs with floor to ceiling black steel windows. I appreciate that this book does include a variety of architectural styles, so even though there are some spaces I don’t care for, there’s plenty of other pages that showcase the more traditional and historic look that I love. I also think that interior design as a whole is moving away from the trendy modern farmhouse and being replaced with a “modern cottage” look. I think Studio McGee does a good job of using transitional style to bridge that gap, and I really hope going forward they do more of the modern cottage because it is so pretty! The calming palette used in this book is tasteful and elegant and full of rich layers, details, and textures. And for those that prefer louder “pops” of colors, well this book and overall look probably isn’t for you.

The images are amazing, very crisp and high quality pages. The book is large and you can see all the detail in each project that is shown.
Shea goes into detail about her processes, so you can see how she does it but also makes references to how it links with her life and it makes it quite authentic.
It can be used as a book just to admire the interiors and exteriors of the projects, but also as a guide for designing your own home!
It’s worth the price when you see just how much imagery and information the book contains. The book can also act as decor when not in use.
The first book had a bit of damage near the spine and we were able to easily request a new one and it was delivered very quickly.
Good experience with the seller and the book itself is amazing!
